Secondary Calculus and Cohomological Physics About this Title. Marc Henneaux, Joseph Krasil′shchik and Alexandre Vinogradov, Editors. Publication: Contemporary Mathematics Publication Year Volume ISBNs: (print); (online).   It is relevant that secondary calculus and cohomological physics, which developed for twenty years independently from each other, arrived at the same results. Their confluence took place at the international conference Secondary Calculus and Cohomological Physics . Get this from a library! Cohomological Physics and Secondary Calculus, which appears to be an extremely promising development. More exactly, the term Secondary Calculus refers to topics such as higher symmetries of PDE and the C-spectral sequence (variational bicom-plex), which are secondary analogues of usual vector fields and differential forms. Secondary Calculus surprisingly reveals a deep cohomological nature of the general theory of PDE's and indicates new directions of its further progress. Recent developments in quantum field theory showed Secondary Calculus to be its natural language, promising a nonperturbative formulation of the theory. The book does not offer enough content for the students to develop an in-depth understanding of the topics covered in an introductory calculus-based physics course. The book would also be useful for undergraduate physics majors studying for the Physics GRE, as it . Books by Robert G. Brown Physics Textbooks • Introductory Physics I and II A lecture note style textbook series intended to support the teaching of introductory physics, with calculus, at a level suitable for Duke undergraduates.

This book is dedicated to fundamentals of a new theory, which is an analog of affine algebraic geometry for (nonlinear) partial differential equations. This theory grew up from the classical geometry of PDE's originated by S. Lie and his followers by incorporating some nonclassical ideas from the theory of integrable systems, the formal theory of PDE's in its modern cohomological form. Simple Nature which is another calculus-based engineering physics textbook. Conceptual Physics A conceptually-based physics textbook by the author of Light and Matter. Secondary Calculus and Cohomological Physics This collection of invited lectures (at the Conference on Secondary Calculus and Cohomological Physics, Moscow, ) reflects the state-of-the-art in a new branch of mathematics and mathematical physics arising at the intersection of geometry of nonlinear differential equations, quantum field theory.
